He Has Risen!
24 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?
Hearing these verses read at the Easter Sunday Service gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. Is this not the most exciting thing to hear on Sunday morning. That death could not hold him, and that Christ arose from the dead! This is one of the most exciting things about being a Christian, knowing that our Lord made a way for us for life after death, through the cross…
But it didn’t just end at the cross, there is more for us who believe than everlasting life.
It did not end at the cross. It is where our journey begins. There is salvation, and hope in something more than just living. There is also more than that. There is authority in the name of Jesus. There is power in his name to heal the sick and cast out demons, there is great power in his name. He has overcome, so that power is available to us, don’t loose sight on all that was given to us on the cross. Thank you Jesus for what you have done.
“What a beautiful name it is
nothing compares to this
the name of Jesus”
